The only bar hop in Bar Harbor that runs on tide tables.

Twice a day the tide drops up to 12 feet and a half-mile gravel bar rises out of the harbor, connecting downtown Bar Harbor to Bar Island in Acadia National Park. It's the bar the town is named for, and you can walk it for only a few hours around low tide before the sea closes it again. This flat, screen-print style poster shows the bar curving out to the spruce-covered island, with tiny walkers heading across, rockweed along the edges and blue water on both sides.

Printed in golden ochre, ocean blue, navy, sky blue, warm sand and spruce green, it's made for cottages and beach houses on Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor rentals and Airbnbs, Acadia hikers, and anyone who's ever raced the tide back to town. Each design is a pun with a true story behind it.

Part of the Shore to Summit series: Maine Coast. Real Maine places, true stories, questionable puns. Every poster in the series is the same shape, so any 3 hang together. Buy any 3 posters and save 15%, applied automatically at checkout.
